BOARD OF DIRECTORS

Valerie Ash
President
Valerie Ash taught kindergarten in Highland Park schools for almost 30 years before working at Oakland University in a Research Project. Now retired, the ideals of Recycled Treasures fit in perfectly with her goals serving the community and recycling and reusing.

Diana Warshay
Vice President
Diana Warshay is a retired sociologist and former biologist, with a doctorate in sociology from Ohio State University. She has worked as a researcher, administrator, and teacher in state and local government, academia and the private sector. Diana’s past community service has been in the area of women’s and children’s rights and working with Recycled Treasures addresses her concerns for the environment and the welfare of children, women and their families. Diana’s knowledge about antiques and vintage furniture comes in handy when trying to price new additions to our Boutique Section of the store.

Katrina Kotcher, CSW
Secretary
Katrina recently received her masters from Wayne State University's School of Social Work and currently works as a case manager with the homeless population in Detroit. She is an active volunteer and advocate for the Detroit/Hamtramck communities. She is a lover of coffee, meaningful conversation and peace.

Suzanne Rowe
Treasurer
Suzanne is a Realtor specializing in residential properties. She is also a member of Ferndale's Beautification Commission and Assessing Review Board. Suzanne has a background in retail, purchasing, billing, and management. Suzanne's hobbies include writing, painting, and gardening. She is a believer in hard work and visionary thinking and feels that Recycled Treasures is absolutely on the right track.

Rev. Dan Buttry
Rev. Daniel L. Buttry is the Global Consultant for Peace and Justice with International Ministries of the American Baptist Churches. He travels around the world working for peace, justice and reconciliation. A resident of Hamtramck, Dan has been on the Recycled Treasurers board from the beginning. He loves to shop the book section of RT.

Cheryl Bukoff, CSW
A social worker for many years, Cheryl is currently working with seniors in Detroit, Hamtramck, and Highland Park. She has seen the need for emergency, free, and low-cost help for furnishings and furniture rise in the area and this has served as a big motivator to work with Recycled Treasures.

George Prokos
George has worked in the Automotive and Publishing industries for the past 20 years. He has served as a sales, service, and marketing director for Automotive Services Group, Big Season Sports Magazine, TRW as well as other Fortune 500 companies.
He has always made it a point to give back to the community. Recycled Treasures allows him the opportunity to give back by volunteering in our Redo Studio. George's philosophy of taking unwanted items and giving them new life is a perfect fit with Recycled Treasures. He enjoyes home restoration, the arts, stimulating conversation, music, and a good read.
