Recycled Treasures was established in 2007 to fill the gap
after the closing
of the only nonprofit second hand shop, so that low income
families could
shop and buy household items and basic furniture at low cost.
Within three months, Recycled Treasures had secured 3,000
feet, had
received a donation of a truck and filled the new shop space half way
with
donations. By the time the doors opened for business in July 2007, it had
received its 501c3 status from the IRS
and its shop was full.
Since 2007, Recycled Treasures has assisted hundreds of
families with the
basic items needed to live through shopping, or through its
Emergency
Furniture Program and its Give Away Program. |
